Manaaki Whenua – Landcare Research is part of the Bioeconomy Science Institute a new Crown Research Institute formed on 1 July 2025. The Institute brings together AgResearch, Manaaki Whenua – Landcare Research, Plant & Food Research, and Scion into a single organisation dedicated to supporting the growth and resilience of Aotearoa New Zealand’s bioeconomy.
This site hosts publications produced by Manaaki Whenua – Landcare Research and its predecessor organisations, including divisions of the former DSIR (Department of Scientific and Industrial Research) and FRI (Forest Research Institute).
Created for a client who has commissioned work from Manaaki Whenua, this report may come from a formal contract or from long-term research funded by Manaaki Whenua or through the government’s Strategic Science Investment Fund (SSIF).
